Quick Blog

I am incredibly stressed over an assignment that I'm currently working on (at 3:30am) as well as worrying about upcoming exams next week (back-to-back on the same day)... but I have to say that despite my stress... I'm glad that I have this blog to turn to and just.. type away... and forget about it all for a few minutes...

Thank you guys for your support... I wouldn't be running this blog without you... which is why I've been having so many giveaways - to give back to you =]

I started this blog with very little intentions or expectations.... at the beginning I updated once every few weeks or even months... I feel optimistic now to update more frequently, because of all your kind comments and encouragements -- and I love that I'm able to help some of you in terms of reviews/sales announcements etc. A lot of people may not understand or appreciate this make-up community or think that we're "shallow" (or whatever other nasty comments there are)... but how I see it is, it's the little things that count right? And the "little things" can be ANYTHING to anybody... so if a good review can help you make an informed decision... or a certain sale or discount for something can make your day just a little brighter... why is that something wrong?

Why are we criticized for having too much make-up in our collections that we "never use" when there are people with different hobbies such as stamp collecting who accumulate books and books of stamps that THEY never use? Why is that an accepted hobby and make-up isn't? It's just as much a collection as it is for any collection.... right?

Ok I am totally going off on a tangent here... hahaha... really just wanted to take a break from my work and say thank you to my YouTube subscribers as well as my blog Followers =)

PS: I was thinking of doing another CONTEST (different from giveaway) for my YouTube Channel when I hit 5000 subscribers... it may take a while (i'm barely at 2000)... but I decided to choose 5000 because it will give me enough time to think of what to do to challenge you guys with the contest as well as give me enough time to collect items for the prize (since I want it to be good ^_^). What do you guys think?

Review: Lollipop Loving Lipstick

A little history:
I suppose a proper review is not needed as I've already expressed my LOVE for this particular shade of lipstick. Over the past YEAR (not even.. probably past 9 months or so) my lipstick collection had grown exponentially. I was never a lip product user (didn't appreciate how fast they faded and the constant reapplication)... for the longest time my only lipsticks were from Clinique (because of the gift with purchase specials) and I've only had a LONE MAC lipstick for the past 7 years (which I *NEVER* used)... although i've had a few lipglasses/plushglasses etc...
My second MAC lipstick purchase was Viva Glam V in July '08 and I loved it -- a very neutral, everyday shade... then it was all downhill from there... lol I'm not sure how many I have accumulated to date... (a lot especially with my track record)... but even though I still rarely wear lipsticks... I feel I can use it in my freelance kit as well as add a punch of colour to my look every now and then... it really is an essential to complete a look ^_^

Well on to the review:
I LOVE IT -- period.

LoL.. ok ok... Lollipop Loving is in a Glaze formula which gives minimal pigmentation and high gloss shine... on my semi-pigmented lips, it shows up as a very sheer peach with noticeable green sheen... it sounds really really weird, but it really compliments my skintone. I really do love this lipstick and contemplating if i should get a SECOND backup and I seem to be going through my first tube fairly quickly. Since it repromoted only a year later (Heatherette) -- perhaps I should take a risk and wait for it to be repromoted yet again? I saw it at the warehouse sale in the heatherette packaging.. but didn't pick it up because I figured I already picked up a back-up AND reviews have stated that the formulations are slightly different (it has improved)... nevertheless, this has replaced my Viva Glam V as my everyday-go-to lipstick... I have used it with different looks and (for me) it compliments everything... HG!!!!!

MIA

I apologize once again for being MIA -- i am sooo bad with keeping organized and posting blogs/videos regularly!! That is why one of my resolutions for the new year is to get organized!

I just finished (sorta) cleaning my room -- it is a never ending task!

Also, school just started today (and i already have two assignments due next week!!! ARGH!)... my bday is also next week, so i've been scrambling trying to organize a small dinner with my friends this weekend (as they have to travel from out of town)... i was telling everyone how this bday has really just crept up on me. I used to be super excited about my bdays WELL BEFORE the holidays... and i would plan a big event. This year i completely forgot!!!! until a couple of days ago when my friends started asking me, "so... what's happening with your bday?" AAHHHHHHHHH!!!

Anyway... enough rambling... i have a collective haul (yet to be filmed)... BUT... since i bought everything over the *hectic* holidays, i don't even remember what they were >_< (or where they are, since i don't keep everything i first buy together -- i immediately put it in drawers etc).

rambling again...

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!
Whether you went out to party it up to ring in the new year, or stayed home all cozy with your loved ones, I hope you had a great time! (Cuz i sure did!!)

I ended 2008 watching the Raptors/Nuggets game courtside with VIP lounge (even though we lost, it was such a sick game!!!!)
Then i went to Toronto City Hall (Nathan Philips Square) for the countdown.. it was FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEZING (-20C) but it was so much fun =)

Here's to a great 2009!
